DON'T LOOSE
YOUR DOMAIN NAME - USE CARSENA TECHNOLOGY DOMAIN NAME
REGISTRATION, MANAGEMENT AND ASSURANCE.
 |
Before you can get your website online, of
course you need a Domain Name such as
www.mydomain.com.
|
 |
To
do this you must register your Domain Name with
a DNS Registry Service such as the
service Carsena offers in Thailand and
internationally. |
What is
the procedure for registering a new domain name?
 |
Carsena Technology Services offers Domain Name
Registration and Domain Name Management
services.
|
 |
Once
you register your domain with Carsena, you no
longer need to worry about the registration
expiring as we will ensure that this does not
happen and that your Domain Name Registration is
up-to-date. |
Transferring an existing Domain Name to Carsena
 |
To
transfer an existing domain simply contact us
via email at
carsena-tech@carsena-tech.net and
writing "Request DNS Transfer" in the subject
line.
|
 |
We
will then communicate with you and begin the
transfer process. Once your domain name is
transferred, Carsena can manage this aspect of
you web presence for you.
|
 |
Although Carsena-Tech welcomes and hosts non-U.S.
domains, we do not register the domain with the
appropriate foreign domain name authority.
|
 |
Non-U.S.
domain names must be registered by our
customers, however we will offer you support and
advice regarding this matter.
|
 |
Once
Carsena-Tech receives a request forDomain Name
Registration we submit that request to the
appropriate body.
|
 |
The
registration process normally takes between 12
to 72 hours depending on system load and demand. |
How do I
register a non-US domain name?
 |
Contact
carsena-tech@carsena-tech.net telling
us which country upper level domain you wish to
register under.
|
 |
Because many international domain registration
agencies require an account to be created on
Carsena's servers before they will proceed with
the domain registration procedure you will need
to submit an order first.
|
 |
If
your local domain registration agency has this
requirement you should submit your order to
Carsena before requesting the registration of
your domain name so that we can provide you with
your IP address and our DNS information.
|
 |
Once
you submit your order to Carsena we will e-mail
you your account information.
|
 |
The
account information will include your IP address
and the information regarding our nameservers
and their respective net addresses.
|
 |
Once
you have received the account information from
Carsena-Tech you should then wait 48 hours
before requesting the registration of your
domain name to ensure that our nameserver
information has been propagated. |
How do
I transfer an existing domain name?
 |
Carsena will also assist you in transferring
your domain to us. Once we receive your order
and payment we will immediately send a MODIFY
DOMAIN form to InterNIC. Once InterNIC receives
the request, they will send an acknowledgment
request and send it to the administrative
contact registered with the specific domain.
|
 |
Once
the administrative contact acknowledges the
transfer request, InterNIC will then proceed to
update their records.
|
 |
While waiting for the new nameserver information
to propagate we recommend maintaining your site
at your current host so that there will be no
down time for your site.
|
 |
During this time you can use the IP address
given to you in your account information to
mirror your web site until the transfer is
complete. |
What if
my MODIFY DOMAIN request is refused because InterNIC
cannot verify who I am?
 |
Although you may be the authorized contact for
the domain name, if the e-mail address you used
to send the request does not match the e-mail
address on file in the WHOIS database the
request will be refused.
|
 |
This
normally occurs when your e-mail address
changes, for whatever reason, and you do not
update your contact record.
|
 |
NOTE: if possible, you should update your
contact record using your old e-mail address -
before you switch to the new e-mail address.
|
 |
If
none of the other contacts confirm your request
you can submit verification via fax.
|
 |
The
fax must be on company letterhead from the
organization listed as the Registrant in the
WHOIS database (this is the organization listed
at the top of the WHOIS record), and must be
signed by an individual with apparent authority
to legally bind the registrant.
|
 |
If
you cannot get verification through e-mail and
fax then you should try to get in touch with the
other contacts (Billing and Technical Contacts)
to see if they will acknowledge and approve your
modification request when they are notified. |
What is
propagation?
 |
Information regarding site locations are
recorded on DNS tables or nameservers.
|
 |
These records are updated by Internet Presence
Providers to reflect the addition and changes of
site locations. The update of these records are
referred to as propagation.
|
 |
Propagation normally takes 12 to 72 hours.
During this propagation period a visitor
accessing your site has the possibility of
accessing either site. |
 |
After the propagation period is over you should
contact your previous Internet Presence Provider
and request them to update their DNS and delete
your domain from their servers.
|
 |
Once
this has been done and their information has
been completely propagated the transfer is
complete.
